Continuing the Diver 1964 1st Edition launched last year, Orient Star has made persistent efforts to launch a replica mechanical diving watch called Diver 1964 2nd Edition . Although the name is also Diver 1964 , the watch was reproduced from another mechanical watch , Calendar Auto Orient, launched by Orient in 1964 . This time Lin Tsai, I will introduce the two generations of Diver 1964 , and focus on this year's special "Longquan Cave" Dragon Blue.
Diver 1964 1st EditionAt the end of 2021, Orient Star launched the Diver 1964 first-generation limited edition watch. The prototype of the watch model AU0501B comes from the Olympia Calendar Diver launched by Orient Star in 1964. The first generation of Diver 1964 retains a lot of engraved designs, such as fine serrated bezel, square pointer and arrow scale, and numbers on the bezel, all of which make Diver 1964 1st Edition have the shadow of Olympia Calendar Diver back then. , high degree of reduction. In addition, the diameter of Orient Star Diver 1964 1st Edition is only 40.2mm. The diameter of diving watches introduced in recent years generally reaches 42mm or more. Therefore, the size of the first generation of Diver 1964 is relatively small. For most watch fans, the thin size is not only easy to control, but also closer to the size of the original Olympia Calendar Diver 39.8mm, which is a big plus.
Since the Diver 1964 generation is a limited edition, limited to 500 pieces worldwide, it was out of stock within half a year after it was introduced in Hong Kong.
Diver 1964 2nd Edition
By 2022 , Orient will once again launch the Orient Star mechanical diving watch under the name of Diver 1964 . This time, the watch is re-enacted from another mechanical watch, the Calendar Auto Orient , launched by Orient in 1964 , and the black model AU0601B which is close to the original version and the AU0602E with the theme of Longquandong Lake water color "dragon blue" were launched respectively. Same as last year, the Diver 1964 2nd Edition has trocars and scales that retain the design of the 1964 Calendar Auto Orient . In particular, Diver 1964 2nd Edition luminous retains the favorite "ointment surface" of watch fans, directly sticking luminous dots on the dial instead of the common "nail frame surface" ( that is, filling luminous on the metal hour markers middle ) . Only the bezel is slightly different from the original Calendar Auto Orient . The font of the new bezel is smaller and the bezel is wider to cater to the public’s preference for diving watches today.
Longquan Cave Dragon Blue
The well-known "Ryūsendō Cave" in Iwate Prefecture is one of the three largest stalactite caves in Japan. Iwate Prefecture is famous for its unique natural scenery. Therefore, tourists who come to Iwate Prefecture will include "Longquan Cave", a secret cave with a length of more than 5,000 meters, in their itinerary. There are only simple equipment in the cave, but it is listed as a "National Natural Monument" by the Japanese government. Stepping into the "Longquan Cave", you will be immediately attracted by the clear water in the cave. The water of the underground lake is also known as the "dragon blue" lake water, exuding a strange blue light. If you have ever been deeply moved by such a psychedelic landscape, you will never forget it even in Hong Kong. The design of the watch is inspired by the "Longquan Cave" in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. The clarity of the lake and the sparkling green of the water are placed on the watch. Paired with a round scale from Calendar Auto Orient, a five-bead strap with mixed polishing and brushed polishing, the combination of classic flavor and modern Dragon Blue brings an alternative impact.
The watch is largely the same as the first generation. Water-resistant to 200 meters, it has passed the ISO 6425 diving watch standard and is suitable for use in Air Diving. In addition to the time display, there is a power reserve display at 12 o'clock and a calendar window at 3 o'clock. The watch is made in Japan, and equipped with the F6N47 movement produced by Orient itself, the quality is stable. Each watch comes with an original silicone strap, which is convenient for users to replace.
Compared with the first-generation Diver 1964, the Orient Star Diver 1964 2nd Edition is slightly inferior in appearance, and its specifications are similar to the previous generation, but it does not lose its topicality. The watch not only continued the theme of last year’s replica, but also launched the Longquan Cave “Dragon Blue”, which attracted many fans. It's a pity that the price is really aggressive, which is 15% higher than the previous generation. The suggested retail price is close to 40,000 yuan, and there are still many choices of various Swiss brands. Of course, if you like its shape, the quality of Orient Star's diving watch is stable, and with unique replicas and themes, it is still a good watch worth buying. Today I will introduce Orient Star's diving mechanical watch. I am Lin Tsai from Lam Workshop. I hope the article can help you. If you have other inquiries, please leave a message below.
